sunken Italian village resurfaces in the middle of Lake Resia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe you have heard of it.&nbsp;It&#8217;s a bit of a mysterious: the bell tower that emerges from an Italian lake, giving rise to all sorts of legends.&nbsp;This bell tower is that of Santa Caterina d&#8217;Alessandria, found in the village of Curon.&nbsp;The lake is&nbsp;that of Resia, in Trentino-Alto Adige (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Lac+de+Resia\/@46.2312667,7.2135986,6.1z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x47832550c0657df1:0x7c3a64fe27a22448!8m2!3d46.8045504!4d10.5309194\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-penci-link=\"external\"><strong>map<\/strong><\/a>) on the Austrian border.&nbsp;While previously only the bell tower had emerged, to the great joy of passing photographers, now the whole village has been revealed, thanks to a decline in the artificial lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent days, the latter has indeed dried up \u2013 a phenomenon which is bound to recur since it is a maintenance operation for the dam located next to it.&nbsp;As a result, the water has given way to the remains of the small village of Curon, submerged in the 1950s, but rebuilt nearby.&nbsp;Around the famous bell tower, the only construction to have stuck its head out of the water previously, small stairs and the foundations of houses have now begun to appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is sure to fascinate passing tourists, and above all to provoke a feeling of nostalgia among the inhabitants of the region who are old enough to remember this vanished past.&nbsp;We have to admit that the image of the bell tower alone in the middle of the lake was more than enough for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background
