Hotels in Bruges: when to find the best prices?

It’s entirely possible to find hotel rooms in Bruges that fit your budget. Many are even quite comfortable. However, finding a cheap hotel in Bruges isn’t always easy, as every month is different.

Among the city’s unmissable events is the Tour of Flanders cycling race, which takes place in April. If you’re not a keen cyclist, it’s best to avoid this month. Of course, July and August, thanks to the holidays and pleasant weather, also attract large crowds. There’s also a noticeable increase in visitors in December, as the Christmas festivities are particularly spectacular in Bruges.

The best months, in terms of hotel prices, are the first three months of the year (prices range from €53 to €140 per night), as well as October and November.

Hotels in Bruges: which neighbourhoods to choose and why?

It’s good to find the right hotel that fits your budget. But it’s even better to stay in an attractive neighbourhood for a truly immersive experience.

The historic centre of Bruges, for example, is the perfect compromise between sightseeing and a convenient location. There you’ll find the famous Beguinage, a former 13th-century monastery, the Markt – the main square – and the iconic Belfry, whose towering presence will seem to accompany you on every journey.

The area around the train station can also be a good choice. It’s a suitable area for those on a budget, and has the advantage of being close to the historic centre of Bruges.

We cannot overlook the Lake of Love. This is the nickname given to Minne Water. There you will enjoy the stunning view of the surrounding gardens, and all the amenities that this area offers (cafes and restaurants, for example).

Finally, for a more bucolic stay, we recommend the Canal Vert area. It’s a warm and authentic place. It’s also full of clichés (but we like that): canal, boats, old stones, and verdant trees.
