Hotel Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva
We start our exclusive selection of hotels on the shores of Lake Geneva with a renowned establishment which occupies a building dating from 1834. The Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva is an exceptional place, carefully designed by the famous architect and interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. The rooms are large, elegant, furnished in the French style, and offer a choice of a view of the lake, the garden, or the city.
As for the plates, they’re also fantastic: the gourmet restaurant Il Lago offers Italian cuisine, prepared with fresh and local products. The establishment also has a beautiful spa, including an indoor infinity pool. There is also a gym. Finally, needless to say at this level of service, but the staff are also very caring.
Hotel d’Angleterre
The name alone reveals its character… The Hotel d’Angleterre is ideally located, a stone’s throw from the UN Palace of Nations. You won’t be able to help but admire the landscape from your window: the establishment offers a panoramic view of Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc. The rooms, tastefully decorated, offer all the necessary comfort for a high standard of stay. The hotel restaurant, aptly named Windows, offers Swiss and international cuisine, complemented by a beautiful view of the waters surrounding Geneva.
Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix
We could not ignore this establishment in our selection of hotels on the shores of Lake Geneva because the Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix does not lack prestige. Newly renovated in 2017, it offers its guests a luxurious stay, with a view of the lake or the Place du Mont-Blanc. Like the previous hotel, one of the Ritz-Carlton’s restaurants, the Living Room Bar and Kitchen, offers an international menu, while the other, the Fiskebar, focusses on Nordic-inspired cuisine. The property is also equipped with a gym.
Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva
There is not one, not two, but three restaurants at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva. But even if they are all gourmet – offering Italian, grilled, and Chinese good – these are far from being the only assets of the establishment. It also has a spa and a gym, covering an area of 1,400m², as well as an indoor swimming pool. As for the rooms, you will not want for space: these are large, very well equipped, and have large windows to allow you to fully appreciate the beauties of Lake Geneva. The icing on the cake is that the Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva has within its walls a theatre and a nightclub, the Java Club, so that you can enjoy your stay in Geneva until the end of the night…
Hotel Metropole Geneva
Once again, we return to the history of Geneva with this five-star establishment built on the old fortifications of the city in 1854. The Hotel Metropole Geneva offers a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Geneva, from its beautiful, contemporary, and spacious rooms, and from its lounge bar, the MET, an ideal place to spend a romantic evening. As for dining, Gusto serves modern Italian cuisine in an elegant indoor and outdoor setting.
Beau-Rivage Geneva
Like the Hotel d’Angleterre, the Beau-Rivage is very close to the UN Palace of Nations. It also offers a panoramic view of Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc. That is to say, if you have a choice. As for the food, it is sublime: the restaurant, Le Chat Botté, obtained a Michelin star in the 2015 as well as 18 and 20 points in the 2012 Gault Millau for its French cuisine. Hotel President Wilson, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Geneva
Making it impossible to miss the view of Lake Geneva, this establishment is located right on the promenade bordering the stretch of water. You will also have the Alps stretching out in front of you. You can admire all this from your room, which will be vast and filled with ultramodern equipment, or from the large outdoor swimming pool. However, if you want to stay inside, the Hotel President Wilson also has a luxurious spa, so there is plenty to do. As for catering, the establishment has two bars, a Japanese restaurant run by the famous chef Michel Roth and open from June to September, a Lebanese restaurant, and the Bayview, which was Michelin-starred in 2014. Mandarin Oriental
We stay in ultra-luxury for this last of our hotels on the shores of Lake Geneva. The well-known Mandarin Oriental has five gourmet restaurants, so it’s unlikely you won’t find feel like eating. It also offers splendid views of the lake and the Alps, and the interior lives up to the reputation of the place, faithful to the art-deco aesthetic. There is also a gym, open 24 hours a day, and a beauty salon. What more could you want?
