Hotel Carlton On The Grand Canal
We begin our selection of hotels with a view of the Grand Canal in Venice with a renowned establishment. The Carlton Hotel has some great assets in this regard: a cocktail bar on the roof terrace and spacious Venetian-style rooms overlooking the water. Even better, you won’t have to search for hours for the Carlton; it is just a five-minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station and the Piazzale Roma car park. In terms of decoration, it offers complete refinement: this romantic four-star hotel features elegant style with Murano glass lamps and period furniture. The rooms obviously include all modern comforts. For dining, the hotel has a bar and restaurant serving Italian and international cuisine, La Cupola.
Pesaro Palace
The photo alone above will make you want to book a room in this hotel. Located in a fifteenth-century building, the Pesaro Palace overlooks the Grand Canal and offers Venetian-style rooms with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and flat-screen TVs. Some – but not all – of them overlook the water. Like the first establishment, this hotel is very central: it is a 15-minute walk from Piazza San Marco and is served by the vaporetto. In addition, the Pesaro Palace has an interior courtyard and a 50m² garden with tables and chairs.
Ca’ Sagredo Hotel
Hotel Ca’ Sagredo is an elegant fourteenth century building located in the very centre of Venice. Its Venetian decoration is simply sumptuous: a majestic staircase, works of art on every wall, period furniture, and marble bathrooms mean your stay in this establishment is bound to be romantic. For the rooms, you will have a choice: overlooking the Grand Canal or the roofs of the Serenissima. The hotel is a seven-minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and a quarter of an hour from Saint Mark’s Basilica.
Hotel Antiche Figure
If you arrive in Venice by train, this hotel will be easy to locate as it is right in front of the city’s train station, with a view of the Grand Canal. The rooms combine modern comfort (Wi-Fi, air conditioning) and period decoration in the Venetian style. You will undoubtedly enjoy a drink at the Garden Café while admiring the view of the most famous river in the Serenissima. St. Mark’s Square is a little further away than our first hotels, but you won’t be able to say no to a walk in the streets of Venice.
Palazzetto Foscari
The Palazzetto Foscari is close to the Doge’s Palace, the Frari Basilica and St. Mark’s Square. And we are ready to bet that you will love the decoration of this establishment, which has a splendid bay window in its common areas, offering a view of the Grand Canal, accompanied by a piano which gives an additional cachet. The hotel offers a continental or à la carte breakfast every morning.
Canal Grande
Nestled in a historic residential area, this charming four-star hotel combines several elements that are sure to please you: a historic setting, classic design, modern comfort, and central location in Venice. The perfect quartet. Are we forgetting anything? Oh yes, of course, this hotel offers a superb view of the Grand Canal, both from some of the rooms and from the terrace. The icing on the cake is that the Canal Grande has its own private quay so you can get there quickly by private water bus or gondola. More romance than that is not possible.
H10 Palazzo Canova
This is a hotel with a more contemporary interior than any of the previous ones. However, from its rooms, the H10 Palazzo Canova not only offers a view of the Grand Canal, it also puts the Rialto Bridge right in front of you! It’s hard to find a more memorable romantic getaway. The rooms each feature a seating area and a private bathroom with a bathtub. San Michele Cemetery and St. Mark’s Basilica are just 700 meters away.
Egò Boutique Hotel The Silk Road
Choose your view! The Egò Boutique Hotel EGO’ Boutique Hotel the Silk Road (what a long name…) offers rooms with a view of the Grand Canal, the city, or the San Salvador Canal so there is something for everyone. Like the previous hotel, this establishment is located just a few hundred meters from the Rialto Bridge, and 500 meters from Saint Mark’s Square. It is therefore the perfect postcard image. A continental breakfast can be served in the dining room or in your room.
BW Premier Collection CHC Continental
Dive back into Venetian heritage with this new hotel. The BW Premier Collection CHC Continental occupies a historic building from the fifteenth century, again, with a beautiful view of the Grand Canal. Please note that not all rooms have one. On the other hand, the most modern comforts are found here, including air conditioning. As for the hotel restaurant, which also has a beautiful view, it prepares Venetian specialties and international dishes alike, accompanied by a large selection of wines.
In addition, the BW Premier Collection CHC Continental offers a “Special Protection” program of specific safety measures for occupants and staff. You can never be too careful!
Hotel Rialto
We are taking a trip back to the Rialto Bridge, for the hotel of the same name. Some of the rooms at Hotel Rialto overlook the famous bridge, as does the hotel’s terrace where you can enjoy a continental breakfast. The accommodation is tastefully decorated in the purest Venetian style. Add to this the vaporetto stop right in front of the hotel and you have an ideal destination for couples who want to treat themselves to a romantic getaway.
Locanda Leon Bianco on the Grand Canal
Offering a mix of modernity and tradition, this hotel occupies a residential building opposite the Ca’ Da Mosto palace, and offers spacious rooms with large windows, late nineteenth century furniture, Murano glass chandeliers, and velvet fabrics. Space and comfort, guaranteed. A continental breakfast is served in your room every morning. The Ca’ d’Oro vaporetto stop is 300 meters from the property and the Rialto Bridge is just a five-minute walk away.
Hotel Santa Chiara
The last of our hotels overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice is sure to leave a lasting impression. The Hotel Santa Chiara offers rooms, some of which have a terrace overlooking either the famous river or the Papadopoli gardens, just next door. These air-conditioned rooms are decorated in a traditional Venetian style and a continental breakfast is served there each morning at no extra cost. For convenience, the hotel is very close to the Venice train station and offers private parking if you come by car.
